I am a music teacher, composer, saxophonist and pianist with an undergraduate degree in music composition from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and a Masters of Music Composition for Film and Television at the University of Bristol. I love music and am eager to share my passion with others.
I have been a tutor both privately and with a studio since beginning my degree in 2016. I have taught piano, saxophone and composition during that time to all ages of students. While at a teaching studio, I also gave teaching lessons to other tutors and provided them with the support needed to feel confident in their own teaching abilities. In addition to private lessons, I also directed a music holiday camp for the studio, including creating a syllabus and class lessons, inventing and carrying out musical games and of course presenting lessons.
I am an enthusiastic and diligent music teacher based in Bristol. Everyone is different, and I enjoy helping students to find and reach their individual goals. I teach a range of styles for all levels, including improv, classical and jazz. It's all about finding out what students love, introducing them to new aspects of music and providing them with the support and skillset they need in order to succeed in their goals. My teaching styles range from student to student. I love to have a jam, help students with their own projects, play musical games and share exam related knowledge and experience. My own upbringing in music involved a mixture of disciplined exams with super fun group and individual performance and collaboration opportunities.
