I have been tutoring privately for over 25 years. I can teach all ages up to GCSE level, either one to one or in small groups.

I use a mixture of past papers and targetted resource sheets for specific topics. I can break down methods in more complex areas for students who are struggling. I enjoy going back to basics and checking their level of knowledge to allow me to best shape the rest of the session. If necessary I would do an "I do" demo and then do some extra examples with them before setting them off on their own. I have built up some great relationships with past students by encouraging them and praising them at every step. I have found that it is often a case of low confidence in most children rather than a lack of knowledge that is holding them back so most of my effort is spent on convincing them that they know more than they think.
