Biomedical student teaching Biology for GCSE and A level

About my lessons:

Biology tutoring for GCSE and A level for all exam boards.
Sessions are 50 minutes in length and are carried out online through video calls.

1) Getting to know you:

Prior to our first session, I will get in contact to ask a few questions about yourself! Firstly it is obviously important to ask what level you are studying at, be it GCSE or A level. It is also imperative for me to know what exam board you are studying (OCR, Edexcel, etc) as specifications can differ. I'd then love to know what your aspirations are! I'll ask what grades you are aiming to achieve at exams, and even what you are thinking about doing after school. Finally, I'd check at what level you currently are within your study by asking for past test marks, or by sending you a quick question sheet just to get an idea of where you are at. All of this just allows me to really know and understand my students, so I can target our sessions and be effective as your tutor!

2) The sessions

The session content will be based off either your weaknesses in the subject or your own wishes on what to tackle. I will have prepared materials on that topic in advance, so we can start tutoring straight away! Activities within the session will range from working through problems and questions together, going over any questions you have struggled with, to mini tests to check your progress. At the end of sessions we will have a quick chat to see how you're doing and chat about any concerns, and then I will send over some work to do before your next session to consolidate your learning from that session.

My name is Logan, and I am a Biomedical Science BSc student at the University of Sussex. I achieved AAAB at A Level, including writing a dissertation on the ethics of euthanasia for the EPQ.
