Advert description
I am a dedicated GCSE Maths tutor with a strong background in Engineering, holding a Master's degree in Systems Engineering, which gives me a deep understanding of mathematics and its practical applications. My teaching style is structured, clear, and student focused, combining step-by-step explanations with plenty of practice and exam-style questions. I tailor each lesson to the student's individual strengths, weaknesses, and learning style, ensuring they understand the concepts deeply rather than just memorising methods.
I have strong subject knowledge across all areas of GCSE Maths, including Number, Algebra, Geometry, Probability, and Statistics, and I am familiar with the main exam boards, including AQA, Edexcel, and OCR. I specialise in helping students improve their grades efficiently, whether they are aiming to pass the foundation tier or achieve a top grade in the higher tier.
My approach emphasizes practical problem-solving, exam techniques, and regular feedback, so students can track their progress and stay motivated throughout their learning journey.
I enjoy tutoring because I love helping students gain confidence and see real progress in their maths skills. For example, I recently worked with a student who was struggling with algebra and moving from a grade 4 to a grade 5; through tailored step-by-step lessons and targeted practice, they improved to a grade 6 in their next assessment.
I have been tutoring for more than 30 years, since I graduated as an Engineer, and had more than 5,000 tutees during this time.
