Supportive, experienced teacher delivering engaging lessons for all learners

With over a decade of experience in education since obtaining my PGCE in Further Education in 2010, I have taught across both Secondary Schools and Further Education Colleges. My career has given me the opportunity to work with a diverse range of learners, including teenagers, adult returners, and students with additional needs. This breadth of experience has strengthened my adaptability and deepened my understanding of how to support learners at different stages of their educational journey.

I am a patient, empathetic, and reflective practitioner who strives to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment. I build strong rapport with students by showing genuine interest in their progress and wellbeing, which in turn encourages motivation and engagement. I am also a firm believer in high expectations and positive reinforcement, helping learners build confidence in their abilities while holding them accountable for their development.

My teaching methods are learner-centered and underpinned by differentiation, active learning, and formative assessment. I regularly use a mix of strategies—group discussions, problem-solving tasks, technology-enhanced learning, and scaffolded instruction—to ensure accessibility and stretch for all learners. I also place a strong emphasis on feedback and reflective practice, both for myself and my students. By continuously evaluating and adapting my approach based on learners’ needs and progress, I aim to foster independent thinking, resilience, and transferable skills that go beyond the classroom.
