I completed my CELTA certification in Bristol in November 2021. I taught adults English Lang, using the Cambridge University techniques. This involved eliciting from the class, asking concept checking questions, lesson planning, making lesson materials, presenting information in exciting ways and building rapport with the class. I have worked in Sunny Days Nursery facilitating activities and care taking. My tasks included, assisting with the morning register, leading games in circle time, reading stories, safeguarding the children during free play time, supporting the kids throughout the day and helping with creative activities. Each lesson will be focused on one topic and paired with either listening, speaking, reading or writing. The lessons include pictures, stories, grammar and sentence structure along with a variety of different content, from looking at a magazine, to listening to a section of audio. They lessons are task orientated. The students are presented with some information, which they will discuss and then the lesson will follow with three sections, based on the toppic, finishing with question time, or quiz. The teaching is student centred, meaning the students do the work, while the teacher facilitates and leads the tasks. The teacher builds rapport, checking their knowledge with concept checking questions and eliciting the answers and information from the students them selves.
