A-Level Politics & Religious Studies Tutor, A* in both, 3+ years tutoring experience - Let’s boost your marks!

I finished Sixth Form having achieved A*A*A (+ A in EPQ) in my A-Levels (Religious Studies, Politics & History). Having tutored for 3 years (KS2-4/GCSE), I am now ready to apply my tutoring skills to A-Level, using the techniques that helped me secure A*s in RS and Politics to support my students to also achieve the grades they need. Using the idea that students need to understand both the content and demands of the exam board and mark scheme to succeed, my lessons are carefully curated to ensure students are able to both learn content and understand how to apply this when answering exam questions and essays. Furthermore, I also understand (having tutored for 3+ years with excellent results and having studied for A-Levels myself) that top grades require top revision strategies. I’m always happy to share my top revision tips with students (the main one being to prioritise active, not passive, techniques) and help students in building healthy and effective study routines.

My lessons focus on delivering content (including recent examples, key debates and difficult concepts, broken down into smaller components) alongside delivering examination fluency. Examination fluency, for me, is being able to write for the exam. This includes understanding assessment objectives, reading previous examiner reports together alongside model answers to gauge an understanding of what the exam board wants from your answers to access higher grades. Additionally, this includes developing essay structures for different style questions to reach Assessment Objectives.
