I have previously worked as a teaching assistant, teaching English to high school students. This experience gave me valuable insight into how to support learners of different abilities and backgrounds. In particular, I have worked with many students whose first language is not English. This places me at an advantage, as I understand how to adapt my teaching to accommodate language barriers and ensure students feel included and capable. My teaching approach is flexible and student-centred—I tailor lessons to suit the individual’s pace, learning style, and goals. I create a calm, supportive environment that helps students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, and grow in confidence. Alongside my teaching background, I have extensive experience working online as a counsellor. This role has equipped me with transferable skills such as empathy, patience, and active listening—all essential for building trust with students. I know that it’s not just about what I teach, but how I communicate and connect with each learner. My teaching style is to guide, encourage, and support them in developing skills, building confidence, and achieving their potential—step by step, at their own pace.
