Tatenda Mhuriro: Chartered Accountant, IFRS trainer & tutor with award‑winning credentials and multi‑sector industry expertise

Advert description
I am an experienced educator and trainer whose teaching and tutoring span both formal classroom settings and extensive professional development in public practice. I began my career as a Mathematics and Accounting teacher at Galaxy (now Pace) College in Bulawayo from January 2010 to August 2012, building strong foundations in pedagogy, curriculum delivery and student mentoring. In the profession, I have repeatedly taken on learning-and-development responsibilities, designing and delivering audit and financial reporting training for staff and clients. At Ernst & Young (Zimbabwe) he helped spearhead firm wide training on IAS 21 and IAS 29 when Zimbabwe re introduced multiple currencies and entered hyperinflationary accounting—working closely with regional teams to establish best practice methodology for restatement and disclosure—and undertook IFRS update training for external clients, highlighting new standards, improvements and interpretations. I also facilitated firm programs such as the New Staff Programme (Core Skills 1), Africa Core Skills (Core Skills 2), New Senior (Core Skills 3) and Intermediate Senior (Core Skills 4). During his time with PwC UK, I assisted with the development and delivery of training for audit and financial reporting teams; and at Forvis Mazars UK, I have continued to develop and deliver accounting technical training, produce internal guidance, and mentor colleagues as part of his Accounting Technical Services (ATS) role. In addition to these roles, I tutored students undertaking the Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences in 2019, supporting candidates on complex IFRS topics and exam technique.
Academically and professionally, my credentials reflect a consistent record of excellence. I holds a BCom (Hons) in Accounting from the National University of Science and Technology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences (2015) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Accounting Sciences (2016) from the University of South Africa, the Initial Test of Competence (2017) from the University of Cape Town, and the Assessment of Professional Competence (2018) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Zimbabwe—completing the pathway to chartered accountancy. My academic achievements include multiple national distinctions (e.g., third in Zimbabwe for the 2015 PGDip in Accounting Sciences; second in Zimbabwe for the 2016 PGDip in App
