Biomedicine student with a strong foundation in Sciences and maths, previous tutoring experience, offering online lessons

when a student comes to a tutor to learn it can often be a daunting experience, understanding this first hand I ensure to tailor my teaching style to each student individually so they can receive the most from every session.
I would like to teach Biology with supporting and engaging sessions. I do this by asking before the session what topics the student would like me to cover and come up with main points for the student to take away and questions to help solidify understanding.
When teaching I like to begin with foundations of the topic and then build to the more complex topics and employ diagrams and analogies to also explain these more complex topics. I often use a whiteboard on my laptop or on video call to do this.
As I go through the session I ask to make sure they understand everything. I sometimes ask them to repeat processes I have explained or ask questions to ensure full comprehension.
Towards the end of the session I like to recap everything we've looked at and give them questions which I have pre-prepared so they can apply the knowledge which they have learnt in the session.
When teaching GCSE student both online and in person for the past 2 years, the explained methods are how I approach my sessions. when teaching for GCSE specifically, I check exam board and specification to make sure I am teaching relevant content and give questions according. Furthermore, I advise students with websites they can use to help them in their studies - this has been helpful in many for many of my students.
