I’m an experienced English teacher with 14 years in the classroom and pastoral leadership.

I’ve spent 14 years teaching English across KS3–KS5, with roles ranging from classroom teacher to Head of Year and Assistant Head of Sixth Form. Alongside my subject teaching, I’ve supported hundreds of students pastorally, so I understand how confidence, motivation, and wellbeing are just as important as exam technique. I’ve also developed whole-school curricula, led staff training, and delivered lessons consistently graded as outstanding. In my tutoring, I focus on tailoring lessons to the individual. I start by getting to know each student’s strengths, challenges, and goals, then build sessions that balance clear structure with flexibility. I use a mix of discussion, modelling, practice, and feedback to help students feel confident in their skills and able to approach exams with clarity. Above all, I aim to create a positive, supportive environment where students feel comfortable to make mistakes, ask questions, and grow.
