English Literature tutor also teaches all Primary Curriculum

Advert description
I have a B.A.Hons in English L:iterature and a Primary PGCE. I have taught for the last 9 years and I creatively look for ways to engage students to make learning fun and memorable. I assess and judge for the Orwell Foundation, which is a national body set up to encourage young writers. My degree included a year long module on Creative Writing and I am a published poet; very involved in performing spoken word.

I consider the learning style and starting point of each student and adapt lessons and resources to ensure that all learners progress at the rate that is right for them. In my previous school, I worked as part of a team that took the school from needs improvement to good, with elements of outstanding. I was Maths lead and worked hard to develop mastery across the school. I received training from and worked closely with the local Maths Hub and cascaded the training to the staff, in staff meetings and training days. As I am a reflective practitioner, I am constantly looking for ways to learn, improve and hone my art of pedagogy, often attending self-funded workshops as well as the CPD provided by the school. I am dedicated to deliver high quality teaching, being acutely aware of providing strong pastoral care in order to remove as many barriers to learning as possible.
I plan all of my lessons to be as vibrant, creative and engaging as possible, ensuring that the children are enthused and inspired to give of their best and reach their own potential. In order to embrace equality and diversity, I differentiate acutely, to ensure all children can access the lessons on the level most suitable for them and I provide focused response time to promote thoughtful reflection, which moves their learning forward. Although I have high expectations of all of the children, I ensure that the support necessary to achieve these is always facilitated. I provide focus groups as an immediate response to lessons, so that no child is left behind. I assess daily, using the results to feed into my planning and my summative assessments. My lessons have consistently been graded as good or outstanding and scrutiny of my pupil's books also evidences this.
I work closely as part of a staff team to provide bespoke provision for all the pupils in my care. I liaise closely with the SENDCo, Safeguarding Lead and Disadvantaged Champion to plan and manage provision.
