I’m a fully qualified English teacher with nearly a decade of experience teaching students aged 11–19. I hold a PGCE in Secondary English with QTS from UCL’s Institute of Education, and a BA (Hons) in English from Queen’s University Belfast. Most recently, I worked as Deputy Head of English and Media at Winchmore School in London, where I also led on Key Stage 3 English and supported the development of new and early-career teachers.

I have taught across the secondary age range, including GCSE and A-Level, and have experience supporting a wide range of learners, including those with SEND and EAL needs. My approach is always student-centred—I adapt each lesson to suit the learner’s needs, build their confidence, and help them achieve their academic goals. Whether it's close reading, analytical writing, or creative composition, I aim to make English engaging, structured, and enjoyable.

As a trained GCSE examiner with AQA, I have a deep understanding of the English Language and Literature mark schemes and can help students refine their exam technique, meet assessment objectives, and maximise their marks with confidence.

Beyond the classroom, I’ve also provided pastoral support as a form tutor, giving me a well-rounded perspective on student development and wellbeing. I believe that strong relationships, encouragement, and clear guidance are key to helping students thrive.
