Artist and Art tutor offering creative mentorship and support with GCSE, A-level, and university applications

Advert description
I’m an artist, First Class UAL graduate and GCSE and A Level Art tutor with 5+ years of experience helping students develop their artistic skills, improve their grades and gain confidence in their creative work.

I offer highly personalised mentoring for a limited number of GCSE and A Level students each academic year. My approach is tailored to each student, whether they are aiming to move from a B or C towards an A or A*, looking to strengthen their coursework and sketchbooks, or preparing for their final exams.

I have helped students achieve A* grades across Art & Design, Fine Art and Photography, working with both AQA and Edexcel exam boards, as well as supporting students studying internationally, including IB Visual Arts.

Alongside school and exam support, I help students prepare competitive portfolios and applications for leading art and creative universities. I have supported students who went on to study Fine Art, Illustration and Architecture at universities including UAL, Southampton, Manchester and Plymouth. I can also help with personal statements, portfolio development, project ideas and preparing for interviews.

I also work with younger students in Years 7, 8 and 9, helping them build strong foundations in drawing, painting and creative thinking, as well as preparing for secondary school art scholarships and eventually their GCSEs.

My teaching is not about giving every student the same formula. I want to understand how each student thinks and works as an artist, then help them develop their own strengths while meeting the requirements of their course or application.

I teach painting, drawing, acrylics, oil painting and mixed media, and I also work with students who are completely new to art or returning to it after a break.

I am currently creating my timetable for the upcoming academic year and accepting enquiries. I only take on a limited number of GCSE and A Level students each year so that I can give each student the level of individual attention and mentoring they need. If you are interested in working together this academic year, I recommend getting in touch early to discuss availability and your goals.

I first contacted Viktoriya about seven months ago to learn watercolour and make some keepsakes and postcards from my travels. Since then, she has encouraged me to explore my creativity much further, and we’ve moved on to experimenting with all kinds of materials, from coloured pencils to acrylics and mixed media. It’s become such a lovely part of my week to spend an hour creating with her. She’s a wonderful and dedicated artist, and I’ve really enjoyed learning from her, hearing about her experiences, and having her guidance as I develop my own work. I’m so grateful for her mentorship and would strongly recommend her!

I took part in one of Viktoriya's group watercolour classes and really enjoyed it. She was a great teacher and gave us the freedom to develop our own ideas while also guiding us and teaching us techniques. She had prepared a lovely design for us to work from, but the class never felt like we were all expected to create exactly the same thing. I really enjoyed being able to experiment and make the painting my own. She also introduced us to some really interesting artists I hadn't come across before, which gave me lots of new ideas and inspiration. Viktoriya created such a relaxed and encouraging atmosphere, and left the class feeling inspired to keep painting. I would definitely recommend her!

I am incredibly grateful for Viktoriya's guidance, which has completely transformed my daughter's painting and sketching techniques, but also improved her research and critical thinking. Thanks to her expertise, my daughter achieved a 9 (A*) in her Art and Design GCSE, an accomplishment she is so proud of. Viktoriya quickly understood what needed to be improved and helped refine her sketchbooks with precision. Her deep knowledge, coupled with a patient and encouraging approach made my daughter progress quickly and boosted her confidence. Every session reignited her passion for art, discovering new artists for her research pages and techniques for her experimentations. As my daughter moves on to A-levels, I'm thrilled to continue working with Viktoriya's mentorship. I highly recommend her to anyone serious about advancing their artistic skills.
