I provide engaging 11 Plus lessons tailored to each pupil’s needs, building subject knowledge, exam technique and confidence.

I have a BA in English and previously worked for Flying Start Tuition, where I taught English and maths to pupils in Years 3, 4 and 5, including children preparing for the 11 Plus. I wrote lesson plans, class overviews and progress reports, adapting the content to pupils’ needs and areas for development. I also worked as a supply teacher across seven school districts, including special education classes, which developed my ability to adjust my explanations, pace and teaching style. I would begin by establishing the pupil’s current level, goals and any areas they find particularly difficult. Lessons would combine clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice and opportunities for the pupil to answer questions independently. I would check understanding throughout, use mistakes constructively and end with a short review of what the pupil has learned. I would monitor progress between sessions and adapt future lessons accordingly. Online, I would use shared resources, interactive questioning and regular changes of activity to maintain attention. I would also follow the training and current materials provided to ensure my lessons reflect the latest 11 Plus structure and requirements.
