Accounting Tutor in Monkton Combe - Experiance teaching for BPP

I am a fully qualified accountant with membership with both Association of Accounting Technicians and the Association of Certified Accountants. I qualified as a Certified Accountant in May 2005.

I have worked in both Private Practice and Industry. I wanted to gain experience in the various accounting areas and this demonstrates my adaptability and keenness to learn and bring my experience to new roles. Particularly, I feel I can demonstrate this when I worked as a Financial Controller for a local charity in Salisbury. I was brought in with no system notes from the previous controller and a new Finance System. Using my skills I was able to suggest new systems that would create efficiencies with the Project spends. I had a small team working for me, 2 direct fully employed finance team members, not qualified. 1 volunteer and assistance from other charity team members should we need it.

After qualifying I went into a large Corporate environment as a Management Accountant. By using my previous experiences I was able to suggest a change to methods when collecting information for the Management Accounts. Although there were no direct reports, you had a to work with a whole team of Management Accounts to pull the full pack together.

I very much enjoy working with other team members. Along my career history I have worked with both financial and non-financial people.

Production of the Financial Statements in a timely manner has been greatly assisted by the knowledge on various computer packages. My use of excel is good and I feel confident using pivot tables and v-lookups and various other components of excel. I have updated my Oracle knowledge whilst in my latest position.

My work in auditing has enabled me to work as both a team player and I am very meticulous and methodical with my work. I am a very self-motivated person and enjoy passing my knowledge onto other members of staff. I aim to complete a work task successfully and do not feel pressured if I need to ask for assistance.

I trained and qualified within private practice. I have been able demonstrate a successful transition from private practice, to a role within industry. This required, an aspect of learning the “product” and the ability to work with a wide range of contacts within the business.
