Advert description
My lessons for primary pupils are carefully structured, engaging, and designed to build both confidence and understanding. I work with children across the primary age range and adapt each lesson to the learner’s needs, pace, and curriculum requirements.
A key feature of my teaching is the use of a clear K-W-A-L lesson structure. At the start of each lesson, we explore what the pupil already knows (K) and what they want to learn (W). This helps activate prior knowledge and sets a clear purpose for learning. During the lesson, pupils focus on applying new knowledge (A) through guided practice, problem-solving, and discussion. At the end of the session, we reflect on what has been learned (L), reinforcing understanding and identifying next steps.
Every lesson includes regular recap and retrieval practice, revisiting key ideas from previous sessions. This supports memory, deepens understanding, and helps pupils make connections over time. Concepts are broken down into manageable steps, with clear explanations, examples, and opportunities to practise independently.
My teaching approach is calm, supportive, and encouraging. I aim to create a positive learning environment where pupils feel confident to ask questions, make mistakes, and develop resilience. Lessons are interactive and varied, using age-appropriate tasks to maintain engagement while ensuring progress.
