I make my lessons suitable for students as everyone is different and everyone learns in different ways therefore the first few lessons will be me trying to see in what areas a student is confident in and what areas need improvement or what they enjoy learning to then organise a plan of lessons so the student progresses and is enjoying learning. Something I do every lesson is have a quick recap of last lesson for me to see what to go over, however, this or anything we do it’s not a test which a student need to spend a lot of time stressing about, this is for the student to simply remember what we have done last lesson. Some students might want help at higher level for example GCSE, these lessons will all contain an exam style questions including all 4 sections (listening, writing, speaking, reading) with facts, tips and techniques for getting the highest marks available. For all lessons I make notes which are carefully planned and detailed (this includes not GCSE lessons too), but the student of course can make notes during the lesson, and I recommend having a separate notebook for all the exercises and sheets I give for practice. Please note that if a student doesn’t like the format or certain way a topic is taught, we can always experiment and try new things to make things fun. I also give small homework which doesn’t take a lot of time, just something that a student can take away.
