I have work experience teaching students aged 3-11 years old as a teaching assistant and a nursery assistant. Within this time, I have provided personalised and specific care to each student within a group setting.
I have informal experience tutoring teenagers my age with more casual, conversational lessons. They have reported back to me with improved grades and appreciated my casual style of teaching.
I think my teaching style is quite casual but very effective. I’ve helped many students in different situations and I’ve noticed my teaching to be effective.
I believe this application is for English only, however for primary school students I can also teach maths and science (depending on the curriculum). For secondary students I can teach science, English language, English literature (depending on the books) and maths depending on the exam boards. However I may also be able to do history and health and social care depending on my GCSE results in August.
Through my lessons I provide presentations and quizzes designed to improve active recall. Every lesson will have a recap to ensure everything is remembered. There will be exam-style questions and guidance provided by me to help improve the quality and structure of the student’s answers.
I can also create homemade personalised presentations, flashcards and question types designed to target weaknesses when needed.
As a teenager myself, my skills may seem unprofessional, however I am confident I can help improve confidence, grades, and exam skills for students. I can provide a comfortable and casual environment and personalised care and lessons suited for the student. My teaching is fun yet effective.
