My lessons are engaging, supportive and tailored to the individual needs of each student. I believe students learn best when they feel confident, understand what they are working towards and are actively involved in the learning process. I take the time to understand each student’s strengths, areas for improvement and preferred way of learning so that lessons are both effective and enjoyable.
I use a combination of clear explanations, guided practice, questioning, discussion and practical activities to help students develop both their knowledge and their confidence. Lessons are structured around the student’s current level and goals, whether that is improving subject understanding, preparing for assessments, strengthening study skills or building confidence in a particular area. I also adapt the pace and level of challenge throughout the lesson to make sure students feel supported while continuing to make progress.
I hold both a Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences and a Master’s degree in Healthcare Innovation, and I use my academic background alongside my tutoring experience to provide well-structured and purposeful lessons. My studies have given me a strong foundation in scientific thinking, research, problem-solving and communication, which I use to make complex ideas easier for students to understand.
I have 5 years of tutoring experience working with children of different ages and abilities, which has helped me develop a flexible and patient approach to teaching. I understand that every student learns differently, so I am comfortable adapting my teaching methods, using different examples and explaining concepts in multiple ways until the student feels confident.
My aim is not simply to help students complete a task or pass an examination, but to help them understand what they are learning, become more independent and develop skills that they can continue to use in the future. I also encourage students to develop effective study habits, organisation, problem-solving skills and confidence in approaching unfamiliar questions.
Most importantly, I create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and learning from them. I want students to leave each lesson feeling that they have made progress and are more confident in their own abilities. My goal is to make learning approachable, rewarding and enjoyable while helping each student work towards their individual academic goals.
