Hello everyone, my name is Yuehan, and you can also call me Claire. I am very excited to share with you what my English lessons are like. My teaching style is "student-centred and communicative", because I believe language learning is most effective when students actively use the language in real-life situations.
In my lessons, I usually start with a short warm-up activity to get students thinking and speaking in English straight away. Then we move on to the main part of the lesson, which may focus on grammar, vocabulary, or skills such as listening, speaking, reading, or writing. I like to include a mix of pair work, group work, and individual practice, so everyone has the chance to participate.
I often use the "Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) approach", which means I encourage students to practise English through meaningful tasks like role-plays, discussions, or problem-solving activities. I also make use of authentic materials such as articles, videos, and everyday conversations, so students can connect classroom learning with real life.
From my experience as a teacher and teaching supervisor, I have learned the importance of creating a positive and supportive classroom atmosphere. I am patient, approachable, and always ready to adapt lessons to meet different learning needs. My goal is not only to help students improve their accuracy but also to build their confidence in using English. Above all, I want my students to feel motivated, comfortable, and inspired to keep learning.
