Yong Zhi Tong

Im Yong Zhi, a 2nd-year Electrical and Electronic Engineering student at Imperial College London, with a strong academic background in mathematics and physical sciences. I achieved 4 A* grades at A-Level, including a Top In The World award for Mathematics, and I was awarded the Dean’s List in my first year at Imperial (top 5% of the cohort).

I have over a year of online tutoring experience, specialising in GCSE and A-Level Maths, Physics, Additional Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry; as well as admissions-focused preparation for highly competitive exams such as ESAT and Oxbridge/Imperial entrance pathways.

My approach focuses on building deep conceptual understanding alongside strong exam technique. I prioritise helping students become confident problem-solvers rather than relying on memorisation, and I tailor each session to the student’s specific weaknesses and exam goals. Furthermore, I focus on making the subject content interesting and relatable to real life for the student. This makes my students more motivated and involved in the classes, leading to a smoother and more effective learning experience.
