I have 2 years of tutoring in Chinese, English and Physics. I teach beginner and early-stage learners of Chinese through communicative, task-based lessons so you start speaking from day one. Each class opens with a clear goal and a short tone/pinyin warm-up, then moves from model input to guided practice and a realistic task (ordering food, introductions, directions). We prioritise high-frequency words and patterns, recycle them with spaced review, and use visuals, sentence frames, and mini-dialogues to keep the pace friendly and achievable. Pronunciation matters: I use minimal pairs and quick feedback to build accurate tones and confidence.
Formats are flexible—1:1 or small groups, online or in person. A typical 60-minute lesson flows: 5’ goals & warm-up ? 10’ input & noticing ? 20’ guided practice ? 15’ role-play/task ? 5’ micro-assessment & homework brief. Between classes you get concise homework, Quizlet sets, and short voice notes for feedback.
I differentiate tasks so mixed-ability learners progress together, and I integrate culture naturally (festivals, etiquette, short clips) to make language memorable. Progress is tracked with brief formative checks and weekly targets you can actually see.
Experience and results: over the past two years I’ve taught 120+ beginners across 200+ hours. 90% of my GCSE candidates achieved grades 7–9; adult beginners typically reach a three-minute self-introduction and basic ordering dialogues in about eight weeks. Two learners passed HSK2 (half with full marks). Attendance averages above 95% and student satisfaction is 4.9/5. Open to all learners—native speakers, please consider advanced options; heritage learners are welcome and placed by proficiency.
