As someone who has recently gone through the GCSE Maths experience, I personally understand the jump in difficulty. My teaching method focuses on walking through worked examples alongside the student, followed by personalized practice questions to ensure they truly grasp the topic.
Having achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths, I am highly equipped to support students at multiple levels:
Primary School Maths: Building a strong, confident foundation to kickstart their maths journey. For my younger learners, I keep sessions highly interactive and lighthearted. We use engaging visual aids and real-world puzzles to make abstract numbers feel concrete, ensuring they develop a genuine curiosity for the subject from day one.
GCSE Maths (All Boards): Tackling everything from core basics to complex Grade 9 calculator topics. Because the GCSE exams are still fresh in my mind, I know the exact exam techniques, mark-scheme shortcuts, and common pitfalls that can make or break a grade. I teach the logic behind the formulas so students can tackle unfamiliar questions with absolute ease. My board didn't do any non-calculator papers but I can help with calcalutor and some non-calcalutor aswell.
To get the most out of our time, I will always ask for the student's exam board or current school curriculum prior to our sessions so I can create personalized activities tailored to their specific needs.
My Goal: To create a supportive, pressure-free space where no question is too small, helping your child build the resilience and confidence they need to unlock their full potential.
