I start with finding out what the tutee knows and what level they hope to achieve, then set a course with them to get there. How they learn will dictate the methods I use, I do employ pieces from the internet (YouTube etc) to illustrate points, but also use samples from books and from pieces that I produce to engage the learner.

I start with finding out what the tutee knows and what level they hope to achieve, then set a course with them to get there. How they learn will dictate the methods I use, I do employ pieces from the internet (YouTube etc) to illustrate points, but also use samples from books and from pieces that I produce to engage the learner.
I tend to reach into topics with Maths, Science and English and then reinforce the learning by using small tests to check on progress, revisiting topics if needs be to ensure that there is a good standard of understanding before moving on to other subjects.
