Hi, I’m Waleed. I’m a final-year Economics and Management student at King’s College London, and I tutor Maths and Economics at GCSE level, Economics at A-level, and early university-level content.
My approach to tutoring is clear, calm, and practical. I focus on helping students properly understand what they’re doing rather than relying on memorisation. In lessons, we break topics down step by step and apply them to exam-style questions so students learn how to approach problems confidently under time pressure. I place a strong emphasis on method, structure, and exam technique, as this is often where students can improve quickly once the basics are secure. Lessons are always adapted to the student’s pace, and I make sure they feel comfortable asking questions at any point.
I completed Edexcel Maths and AQA Economics at both GCSE and A-level, and I’m very familiar with how these exams are structured and marked. My degree has a strong quantitative focus, including maths, statistics, and econometrics, which helps me explain concepts logically and clearly. For Economics, I support students with applying theory, structuring written answers, and interpreting data effectively, rather than learning content in isolation.
Alongside my studies, I’ve worked with students across a wide range of ages, from 11+ through to GCSE and A-level, supporting both students who lack confidence and those aiming to improve their exam performance. I also currently mentor students in an academic setting, helping them stay organised, work through problems independently, and build habits that make studying feel more manageable. I enjoy tutoring because I like helping students realise they’re capable of more than they think, and my aim is always for students to leave lessons feeling clearer and more confident heading into exams.
