I have been a private maths tutor for over a year, teaching GCSE Mathematics and offering A-Level support as well. I achieved A* in Maths and Further Maths and an A in Chemistry A-level. I also received a 9 for GCSE Maths. I have a proficient knowledge of the Pearson Edexcel exams, but I am able to adapt to any England exam board. My lessons focus on developing an understanding of each topic and building confidence through guided practice. At the start of each session, I provide 1–3 warm-up questions related to the topic we’re covering. This helps students review key skills and prepare for new material.
During lessons, I explain concepts clearly and guide students through examples before encouraging them to attempt problems independently. I promote active learning by asking targeted questions and inviting students to explain their reasoning. When mistakes occur, I first give students the opportunity to identify and correct them themselves — a process that strengthens their problem-solving ability.
Above all, I aim to nurture confidence and a positive attitude toward maths. I provide constructive feedback and celebrate progress, helping students feel motivated and wanting to improve.
