In my lessons, I aim to create a structured yet flexible learning environment tailored to each student’s interests and goals. Each session typically starts with a brief review or discussion, followed by a focused topic such as storyboarding, character design, camera techniques, or editing basics. I combine visual examples, practical activities to make lessons engaging and interactive.

The content covers key concepts in filmmaking and animation, including visual storytelling, composition, timing, and creative development. To support learning, I incorporate a variety of materials such as recommended books, online videos, curated tutorials, and interactive digital resources. These materials help reinforce lessons and give students the opportunity to explore topics at their own pace between sessions.

Although I’m new to tutoring, my Master’s in Filmmaking and Bachelor’s in Animation (with a minor in Photography and Film & Television) have equipped me with a strong academic foundation and practical insight. I strive to make every lesson enjoyable, confidence-building, and creatively inspiring, with a clear focus on helping students deepen their understanding and passion for the subject.

Raised in Hong Kong as a native Chinese speaker, I have over 10 years of experience speaking and studying both Mandarin and Cantonese. Since a very young age, I frequently traveled to Taipei, Taiwan for family business trips. Additionally, I spent a year studying intermediate Japanese in Nara, where I developed strong conversational skills across all areas of the language and gave a speech in Japanese about my mental illness to the local community, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic.
