I am a warm, welcoming, fun and patient teacher. I like to conduct lessons at a pace that suits the student. I like to begin the lesson with a warm up and a refresh on the previous lesson, as it is a great way to strengthen students' retention of knowledge. Post refresh, I will then lead onto the content for that days lesson, which is taught at the pace of the student and their ability. Guidance and help is provided as and when required in order for the student to reach their learning and development goals. I am comfortable with the student leading the lesson if they feel confident to do so. Additionally, if the student feels as though they require a little extra help to progress in order to improve their subject proficiency or if the student is shy or struggling with their confidence and/or abilities I'm comfortable and experienced in running teacher led lessons for both adults and children, in person and online. Finally, I like to finish the lesson with a game rounding off the session's materials, this allows the student to leave the lesson feeling clear on the content taught and the learning objectives which have been met. My experience teaching English as a foreign language to both children and allowed has allowed me to gain a much better understanding of the needs of each of my pupils, along with comprehension of non-verbal signs e.g. when a student is disinterested or unable to understand the context or task at hand fully. I am very happy to work with beginners, every one has to start somewhere so there is no need for embarrassment in my classroom. Additionally, because of my aforementioned experience I am very comfortable assisting students of greater proficiency to expand their English knowledge and skill set further.
