I decided that I needed a change in career a few years ago and I have been teaching English as a Foreign Language for over a year now after studying for my TEFL Certificate.
I like to get to know my students a little bit first and then centre learning/improving around conversational English as I feel it is a more natural way to learn to be fluent but I also structure lessons for grammar, etc, if that is what the student needs to work on. Every lesson is based on the needs of the student so every lesson is different.
In the past, I have had my own catering business for many years and worked in Customer Services, so I have built up skills which allow me to take on board what a person needs and wants and find solutions to fulfil those needs.
I like to think I am a calm, patient and attentive teacher, therefore, our lessons will have a more relaxed and friendly feel to them to help put you at ease and make it easier for you to be more confident when learning to speak English. We can use learning materials, read articles, concentrate on grammar or even just have general chats about your favourite subjects or day to day life.
