I have over 25 years of experience working in community-based learning, and I am passionate about helping people discover and develop their creative potential.

I believe that every person learns differently, so I take the time to get to know you as an individual. Together, we will explore your interests, identify your current skill level, and understand what motivates and challenges you. My role is not only to help you develop artistic skills, but also to support you in overcoming any barriers that may be holding you back.

As your confidence grows, you will learn to quiet your inner critic and give yourself permission to explore what it truly means to be an artist.
I like to introduce drawing exercises in the same way a gym instructor creates a fitness routine. Regular practice builds strength, confidence and skill. I encourage you to explore and test the materials you use, to be playful, and to experiment. Rather than simply being told how to do something, you will learn through hands-on discovery, finding out what materials can do through trial and error.

Making mistakes is an essential part of both learning and the creative process. Not everything will be perfect the first time, and that's absolutely okay. Creative play and experimentation help to develop observation skills, hand-eye coordination and muscle memory, allowing techniques to become more natural over time.

I will teach you how to really look at the world with fresh eyes. You will learn to see like an artist, understanding form, tone, shading, texture, proportion and dimension. My aim is to equip you with the confidence, knowledge and independence to develop your own artistic voice, rather than simply copying images. Through this journey, you will discover your own unique way forward as an artist.
