Welcome! I’m Vanitha Vijaikumar, a passionate and experienced science and chemistry educator with over 16 years of teaching experience in both Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom. My lessons are engaging, student-centred, and designed to build both subject knowledge and confidence.

Content and Approach
1. I specialise in Chemistry and General Science at secondary and A-level, and my lessons follow the UK curriculum (including OCR, AQA, and Edexcel). I integrate:

3. Real-life applications of science to keep lessons relevant and exciting
4. Regular quizzes and formative assessments to monitor progress
5. Revision strategies tailored to individual strengths and weaknesses
Experience
1. Currently teaching science at Shaftesbury School, Dorset
2. Previously taught at Hillview School for Girls, Kent
3. Served as an Assistant Lecturer at the National Institute of Education in Sri Lanka
4. Qualified with an MSc in Chemistry Education and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education
5. Trained in A-level practical endorsement, safeguarding, and curriculum design
My goal is to help students develop curiosity, critical thinking, and mastery in science while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
