We start with a short diagnostic chat to understand your goals (exam, project, or skill-building) and your current level. Together we set measurable targets and a weekly plan. Before each session, I’ll share concise prep (a one-page primer or a 5-minute video) so we spend lesson time on doing, not just listening.
In class, we mix mini-explanations with live problem-solving and Socratic questioning. You’ll work through exam-style questions, draw mechanisms/flowsheets, and practice the “why” behind each step. I use an interactive whiteboard and structured methods like the Feynman technique, spaced repetition, and active recall. Expect annotated step-by-step solutions you can keep, plus quick concept quizzes to check understanding.
After the lesson, you get targeted practice (not busywork), a summary sheet, and feedback with next steps. I’m available between sessions for brief clarifications.
Content areas include: general chemistry and math foundations, mass & energy balances, thermodynamics, transport phenomena, reaction engineering/kinetics, separations, data analysis, and scientific writing (reports, literature reviews, figures/tables). I’m happy to integrate MATLAB/Excel basics for data and plotting.
About me: I’m an MSc student in Chemical and Process Engineering (University of Bologna) and an exchange researcher at the University of Edinburgh, working on microfluidics and nanoparticle separation. I’ve supported peers in coursework, labs, and exam prep, and I’m comfortable teaching in clear, accessible English for both native and international students.
Logistics: online via Zoom + whiteboard; in-person in Edinburgh by arrangement. Sessions are 60–90 minutes, with flexible scheduling. If you’re ready to learn actively and see steady progress, I’m ready to help.
