Usman Mukhtar

I believe education is the most significant influence in creating opportunities for young people. Currently studying Cell
Biology at university, I love teaching and in particular sharing the wonders of Biology. I highly value education and challenging students to become the best they can be.

I have 2+ years of experience delivering lessons one on one and in classes of up to 5 students at once. I deliver effective lessons by incorporating research based teaching strategies such as efficient note taking, emphasising exam questions, setting meaningful homework and providing feedback on it to develop skills through practise and repetition.

I’m constantly checking how students are responding to the work set and tailoring my level of support to their ability, to challenge them accordingly. Additionally, I always evaluate my students’ progress and I’m open and honest when discussing results with students and parents, adjusting lesson plans to meet everyone's needs.

I specialise in tutoring Maths and Science. I’m a subject specialist in Biology, currently studying this for my degree. I have experience tutoring at KS2 level, GCSEs and A-levels.

I look forward to supporting young people in getting into their dream schools. I’ve helped my older students into universities such as Imperial, King's College London and UCL - mentoring them in exam technique and mock interview practice alongside the necessary academic gains.
