I have taught GCSE students for 2 years now and I tailor each class to each student. At first, I like to go through past paper questions to figure out what the students are struggling with. I use an Ipad and I share my screen on the teams video call to make sure that I can annotate the screen as I teach the student. I then like to explain the concepts further to consolidate the student's knowledge and make sure the student's fully understand the content! For visual learnings, I also like drawing diagrams to make things easier to comprehend and memorise! Before the lessons, I also ask the students what they would like to do so I can thoroughly prepare the lessons. As each student is different, I also ask for feedback on what the student would like to do differently or if they would like to keep the formatting of the lesson the same so that they can get the most out of their learning! I grew up having tutoring so having experienced tutoring from more than a dozen other tutors, I have learnt how to tutor and the most effective methods to utilise! I found this very helpful for my learning which is also why I have become a tutor myself! I'm also happy to answer questions throughout the week regarding homework problems so students can just pop me a message in the week between their tutoring sessions!
