My GCSE maths lessons are structured, supportive, and entirely tailored to each student’s individual needs. I begin by assessing the student’s current understanding and identifying areas they find most challenging, whether that is algebra, geometry, or handling exam-style questions under pressure. Each lesson has a clear objective, so students always know what they are aiming to achieve and can track their progress effectively.

I usually start with a concise explanation of the topic, breaking concepts down step by step using clear, relatable examples. Once the fundamentals are understood, we work through practice questions together, gradually increasing difficulty and introducing exam-style problems. This approach ensures students develop not only accuracy and speed, but also the confidence to tackle unfamiliar questions. I emphasise understanding the reasoning behind methods rather than rote memorisation, helping students build long-term skills and problem-solving ability.

Throughout lessons, I encourage students to ask questions and think critically about each step, creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. I adapt my teaching methods to suit each student’s preferred learning style, incorporating diagrams, worked examples, and guided practice. Regular feedback is provided, highlighting both achievements and areas for improvement, alongside practical tips to avoid common mistakes.

With my strong mathematical background and experience working with GCSE students, I aim to improve both grades and confidence. By the end of our sessions, students not only understand the content thoroughly but also feel more independent, capable, and ready to approach exams with assurance. My lessons are structured, interactive, and designed to make maths accessible and enjoyable.
