I believe that students deserve an honest and open approach from a tutor, they should help direct their learning. I English is made up from individual skills, and I aim to help students with strengthening their weak skills, and bolstering even further already strong skills. Learning both analytical and language skills is important to be able to write proffeciently, and to write about a subject/book/text that you may not enjoy. English isn't always enjoyable, but that doesn't mean you can't achieve high scores.
I was diagnosed with a learning disability, and whilst it didn't affect me too badly, I can understand the struggles that come with them. Dyslexia, Dyspaxia, Dysgraphia, can make students feel left behind or different, but with the right support, a student can achieve regardless, everyone has their own tricks and sklls, having someone help you explore these massively help. Despite state schools usually having a very solid Special Education and Needs department, it cannot be said for all schools, especially schools in the private sector who do not need grades for funding, I can also provide support in learning what support works best, and how to capitalise.
Not only do I have experience with English skills, and support with learning disabilites, I can help with any form of essay writing, including subjects such as RE(Religious Education), Media Studies and history. In essence, most writing requires the same skills, looking at a text analytically, understanding given context, and both applying and linking these skills back to the question.
