For the first lesson with your child I aim to do a test with them surrounding topics that should be covered in the national curriculum for their year group. This will enable both yourself and I to see which areas of the syllabus they are currently struggling in, doing well in and needing to strengthen. From here I will then detail a report back to you as parents or carers about what your child did well in and needs to improve in their work. From this I will then proceed with going through those topics which have been highlighted as needing further assistance on during the test through worksheets and whiteboard work. At the end of the session based on the work we would have done I will set an overview piece to be completed by the next lesson in order for your child to consolidate their understanding.
