I like to shape my lessons based on your goals and learning style. Typically I use a mix of hands-on practical drills and exercises that you can take home with you to work on, as well as learning songs and pieces that you like to listen to, combined with some important theoretical concepts. I don't believe in a 'right' way to learn: if you want to study for ABRSM or similar grades I'll be right behind you; if you want to learn Bill Evans solos or Adele songs then I'll be right there for that. If you're not looking for instrumental tuition, I have a lot of experience on the academic side of Music with a degree qualification covering theory, history, analysis and lots more. I understand how important studying Music is but also how hard it can be, so I can provide whatever tuition support you need for your study. For me, the best way to learn is always via in-person lessons. I am based in Birmingham city centre and I'm able to commute around the local area or welcome you for lessons at my home. If this isn't possible for you, don't worry - I can also set up online video lessons for your convenience. In general, I am always happy to be flexible to your needs - on timings, location, content, teaching style. If you're not sure about anything or would like an informal chat prior to booking a lesson, please don't hesitate to get in contact!
