I teach both children and adults from beginner to those looking to improve their game to a point where they can join a club and be competitive. My style allows students to develop at their own pace. Anyone can learn to play chess whatever their age. However, if you are interested in knowing more than just how the pieces move, then my method will help you improve your game.

I have worked for Chess in Schools and Communities on and off since 2017.

My lessons are either face to face or online. I am willing to travel anywhere in the Southampton or surrounding area at no extra charge.

I got interested in chess after watching the queens gambit. I didn’t know how to play but was given Tim’s details by a friend whose child had been coached by Tim at their school chess club. Tim was really friendly and explained the game really well and enabled me to learn at my own pace. I now play online regularly and hope to join a chess club to play over the board chess. I would recommend Tim to anyone learning to play or improve.
