The service I offer is bespoke to each tutee. For some students, their preferred focus is on lesson content and these sessions centre more on building knowledge through dialogue. For others, exam technique is the primary area of focus and these sessions involve looking at and writing exam questions with the view to building confidence and experience. In both cases, homework can be set to further buttress the development of knowledge and skills.

I also have experience tutoring students with SEND such as ADHD, in these cases the sessions are more tightly structured and homework very specific to ensure students remain focused and motivated with clarity of instruction. Given the diversity of SEND, a specific plan will be put together following the first session with myself, the students as well as parental input.

I also offer support with university applications, with applications to Oxbridge being the most common. This includes assistance with drafting personal statements and well as mock interviews. Having completed my teaching qualification (PGCSE) at the University of Cambridge, I am well placed to provide this service, drawing from both professional and personal experience.

Finally, from my years of tutoring experience, I recognise the flexibility of the tutor to be paramount. An effective tutor is one who can step up the quantity of sessions just when they are needed most - before both mock and final exams. I work as a teacher two days a week meaning the remaining days are dedicated to my tutees. Typically, one or two sessions a week is needed to build skills during the course of an A level though I have the availability to increase this to match the needs of my tutees just when it matters most.
