My lessons are structured, engaging, and tailored to each student’s individual needs and goals.
As a Year 12 student currently studying both Maths and Further Maths, I have a strong and up-to-date understanding of the curriculum and the challenges students face. Having achieved a grade 9 in GCSE Maths, I am confident in explaining key concepts clearly and breaking down complex problems into manageable steps.
Each lesson typically begins with identifying key areas of weakness and a quick recap of prior knowledge to reinforce understanding, followed by a focused explanation of a specific topic. I like to use a “learn, practice, apply” approach: first introducing the concept, then working through exam-style examples together, and finally allowing students to attempt real test questions independently with guidance which allows students to fully familiarise themselves with exam technique. This helps build both confidence and problem-solving skills.
I aim to create a supportive and relaxed learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I understand that everyone learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style—whether that means using visual methods, step-by-step walkthroughs, or exam-style practice.
I am also very patient and approachable, and I take the time to ensure students fully understand a topic before moving on. I am committed to helping students stay motivated, track their progress, and build long-term confidence in their mathematical ability.
As someone who has recently gone through GCSEs, I can also offer helpful exam tricks, revision strategies, and tips on how to avoid common mistakes.
Overall, my goal is not just to improve grades, but to help students develop a deeper understanding and confidence in maths.
