I love my job, the most rewarding part is helping students to make progress and build their confidence in my subject.
I have taught Science at GCSE for 5 years and am experienced in taking students of all starting points through their exams to make at least their target progress.
I have worked with a number of students in their final weeks before exams over the years, turning those that have not begun revising into more confident and resilient students.
My teaching methods are backed by the research school network and the EEF as I currently work in a successful research school in West Sussex. I have become the Deputy Leader of Science, focusing on the delivery and design of KS4 curriculum to ensure that our students make strong, consistent progress.
It’s important that the student has confidence in their teacher/tutor and as such, I offer my first lesson free of charge so that we can work out if the sessions will best support the student.
My Approach:
First I like to identify key areas for focus, then work through these areas by building confidence in exam technique and an understanding of content.
Exam technique is incredibly important and practice of exam questions in a way that teaches how these questions must be answered and how the taught content translates is an area that has helped me with my own classes.
I look forward to the possibility of working with you online or in person. I am sure we can help you to make good progress!
