My lessons are friendly, supportive and tailored to each student’s individual needs. I aim to create a comfortable environment where students feel confident asking questions, making mistakes and developing their English skills without feeling pressured.

Lessons will usually begin with a quick discussion or activity to identify what the student already understands and what they would like to improve. We can then focus on areas such as reading comprehension, analysing language and structure, creative writing, descriptive writing, essay structure, spelling, vocabulary and GCSE exam technique. I can also help students understand how to approach different types of exam questions and how to structure their answers effectively.

I use clear explanations, examples and guided practice throughout the lesson. Rather than simply giving students the answers, I encourage them to think independently and explain their ideas, so they gradually become more confident working on their own. We can work through practice questions together before students attempt similar questions independently.

I also believe that personalised feedback is important. I will highlight what a student is doing well and explain specific areas they can improve, giving them practical advice they can use in future work. Lessons can be adapted depending on whether a student needs help with a particular topic, is preparing for an upcoming exam or simply wants to improve their overall confidence.

As someone who has studied English Language at GCSE and achieved a strong grade, I understand the challenges students can face with English exams. My goal is to make lessons engaging, understandable and useful, while helping students develop skills that they can apply both inside and outside the classroom.
