I use simple illustrations, we work through questions and then my students are allowed to practice more questions. Taking time to study the students preferences for a learning style is another strategy I use ensure that each of my student is adequately engaged and that learning occurs. Every student pace is also noticed and this is respected, a great emphasis is on laying down good foundation for precepts taught. Timelines are defined and broken down into modules that are easy to manage, such as: foundation, developmental, core then complex levels based on individual students cognitive strength and competency. Interesting and engaging are two attractions my lessons have been assessed on occasions. With the duo, it is easier for a win-win. Furthermore, I make use of real life examples, questioning to maintain engagement in class and offer varied tasks for different learning needs. The use of technology and multimedia to enhance learning when and where appropriate. All the above is to ensure that a positive and supportive classroom culture is being built in order to promote participation and progress. To walk you through my lesson: I start with a clear objective, then I guide students through the lesson with activities and it's all summed up with a recap or reflection of what they've been taught in that lesson. I could also follow up with interactive tasks such as- group discussions, think-pair-share in order to test, gauge and reinforce understanding and comprehension of all that has been taught during the course of the lesson.
