My experience is mainly with my siblings who i taught from CGP books whilst looking at the areas the child is comfortable in and which areas they require more attention. It is not just about doing questions and trying to get the right answers, however understanding the maths behind each question to make it easier for the student to understand and learn the concepts of maths. I believe it is important for the child to be comfortable and be able to open up about the things they find difficult and easy to be able to enjoy the subject more. I would begin the lesson of by recapping the content the student has previously gone through to see their progress and if need be, go over the content again. Once this has been done at the beginning of the lesson, i would then go over the next topic in question and finish the lesson of with a quiz to assess the students knowledge of what they have learnt in that current lesson. It is important to encourage each student to try and go away from the lesson and go over the questions provided in the lesson and see if they can manage to do them themselves. I would be happy to provide my number for students parents to send messages if the student was to need help with homework or extra work that they are finding difficult. It is important to keep the parents in loop of their child's progression and confidence with the subject
