My Maths lessons are structured around the individual needs and goals of each student. I am currently studying for a masters in Physics at UCL and have experience tutoring Maths to students of different ages and abilities. I currently tutor at a tuition centre, where I support students with Maths and help them develop their problem-solving and exam skills. I also have previous experience providing both paid and voluntary Maths tuition working for The People's Classroom
I believe students learn best when they understand why a method works rather than simply memorising steps. I therefore use questions, hints and worked examples to guide students through problems, giving them enough support to make progress while encouraging them to think independently. If a student is struggling with a concept, I will explain it in a different way and break it into smaller, more manageable steps.
Lessons can include reviewing previous work, identifying areas that need improvement, learning or revisiting key concepts, and practising questions together. I can also provide more challenging questions when a student is ready to progress further. I adapt the pace and difficulty of lessons according to the student's level, whether they need help building their foundations, keeping up with schoolwork, preparing for exams or gaining confidence with Maths.
My aim is to create a calm and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I want students to leave lessons not only knowing how to solve the questions we covered, but feeling more confident tackling unfamiliar problems independently.
