I was born and raised in China, so Mandarin is my native language. I am currently based in Leeds, offering online Chinese lessons to learners of all ages and backgrounds. Whether you are a complete beginner, a student preparing for exams, a professional looking to do business in China, or someone simply interested in the language and culture—you are very welcome.

My teaching philosophy is simple: learning a language should be practical, engaging, and suited to you. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Every student has different strengths, weaknesses, and goals, so I tailor each lesson accordingly. For younger learners and beginners, I focus on building a strong foundation in pronunciation, tones, and basic vocabulary through interactive activities and games. For intermediate and advanced learners, we work on reading comprehension, essay writing, and fluent conversation—using real-world materials like news articles, short stories, or even clips from Chinese films.

My lessons are relaxed and supportive. I encourage students to make mistakes because that is how we improve. I give clear explanations, plenty of practice opportunities, and regular feedback so you always know how you are progressing. I also use my background in Data Science and Mathematics to make complex concepts more logical and easy to understand—especially helpful for students who find grammar patterns challenging.

Outside of teaching, I have lived and studied in both China and the UK, and I bring that cross-cultural perspective into my lessons. I can help you not only with the language but also with understanding cultural nuances, so you feel more confident communicating with native speakers in real life.
