I’m a storyteller at heart. I’ve always loved stories in every form: telling them, writing them, noticing them, capturing them, and helping other people discover the next chapter of their own story!

One of my earliest memories of storytelling is creating adventures with my primary school spelling words, starring my very own character, Annabel the Cat. Later, I was the student who would happily nag my GCSE English teacher to focus on coursework instead of exam preparation, because I loved writing and the freedom to be creative. (Sorry, Ms Sutton!)

I now have a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language & Communications with Creative Writing & Journalism, a Level 3 Award in English for Literacy and Language Teaching, a PGCE in Further Education, and a Master’s Degree in Photography. I also hold A-Levels in English Language, Photography and Business Studies.

Since graduating, I’ve worked across Further Education colleges, alternative provision, home tuition and EOTAS settings, teaching English, Maths and Photography whilst supporting learners with a wide range of SEND and SEMH needs. I now combine this experience with my private tuition, offering personalised support for learners with a range of needs, interests and backgrounds.

I love creating learning that feels personal and meaningful. Whether that means exploring a learner’s interests through a project, finding a more creative way to approach English or Maths, developing photography skills, or simply helping someone rebuild their confidence, I believe learning works best when it feels relevant to the person in front of you.

My approach is interest-led, practical and flexible. My background in photography also brings a visual and creative perspective to my teaching, helping me think outside the box and find different ways to approach a subject when traditional methods aren’t quite working. I’ve previously gone on scavenger hunts to find items for descriptive writing, used Minecraft blocks to explore creative writing, and even broken down parts of a Henry Hoover for spelling practice! For learners working towards exams, I aim to make preparation feel less overwhelming by breaking skills down into manageable steps and finding practical, enjoyable ways to practise them.

I offer online and in-person tuition for learners aged 11+, including adults, across English and Literacy, Maths and Numeracy, and Photography. I also offer bespoke support for learners who may benefit from a more flexible approach, including SEND, SEMH, EOTAS and Home Education support.
