I will make sure my lessons are suited to each individual. Depending on the level of the student, eg - the key stage they are currently studying, we will start with basic skills and gradually build this up. Anything which is not understood will be recapped consistently.
Above all, my teaching style is fun I like my students to learn through music and styles they enjoy.
I have spent the last 7 years teaching students from the age of 11-18 and have loved every minute of it. I have been so proud to see my students turn into fantastic musicians and watching them love each and every step of their development.
Prior to this I was teaching peripatetically to children and adults of all ages. This was an excellent opportunity and I really enjoyed teaching the younger children and seeing such drive from such a young age.
I have also taught history and English and have loved the change of subjects too.
I also continue to perform myself and am working with several different touring shows at present. I think it it’s important for me to continue to develop my own craft in order to continue my development as a teacher. I also like to inspire my students by showing them the possibilities which can be gained in the music industry.
